Title / Position:     Software Developer

Job Description

Apero Solutions is growing, and we are excited to add another software developer to our team in Edmonton. This individual will work closely with our existing development team to continue adding new features to our ERP software. We are excited to see what you can contribute to Apero and our continued success. The position requires Progress ABL development knowledge.

If the successful candidate does not have Progress development experience, the position will start with an intensive three-week in-depth Progress development training program.

Position Summary
  • Provide analysis, design, and programming services in exposing Progress OpenEdge 4GL/ABL procedures and object-oriented development
  • Develop Progress OpenEdge backend service using REST and SOAP technologies
  • 4GL/ABL programming to extend ERP functionality
Technical Skills Required
  • Sound knowledge in Data Structure and Algorithm
  • Web Services / SOA programming technologies
  • REST API programming
  • Database and SQL knowledge
  • Object/Relational Mapper (O/RM)
  • Microsoft Dot.Net exposure is an asset
  • Progress OpenEdge exposure is an asset

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

As a programmer, you will be required to take existing embedded ERP business logic programs and convert them to web services (REST/SOAP) for use/consumption by .NET or Progress Appserver. This will require advanced knowledge in 4GL/ABL, XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, Open Edge 10/11 and some Appserver architecture. The ideal candidate will have a very strong understanding of all the Progress technologies and how best to leverage them, especially Appserver, writing web services with 4GL / ABL procedures.

Title / Position:   Software Support Specialist

Job Description

Apero Solutions is growing, and we are excited to add another software support specialist to our team in Edmonton. This individual will work closely with our support team to continue providing support to our customer base. We are excited to see what you can contribute to Apero and our continued success.

Position Summary

The software support specialist will provide client support for our Supply Chain Management software products. This individual will play a primary role on Apero’s client support team, actively participating in support team meetings, assisting with the testing of new software releases and resolving support items.

As the first responder to client’s requests, you would:

  • Answer questions about “how-to” use of our applications.
  • Deliver exceptional service to our clients from initiation of the support incident through to completion; communicate effectively with clients throughout the process.
  • Accurately maintain service orders, logs, and documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and documentation for trending issues.
  • Coordinate efforts with other teams and teammates to resolve issues quickly.
  • Perform root cause analysis for each issue, escalating as necessary.
  • Communicate priorities and issues to internal business units to manage service levels.
  • Follow up to ensure issues are completely resolved to the user’s satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a sense of urgency and ownership while working to resolve calls and improve the supplier/customer relationship.

Requirements

A background in Supply Chain Management and/or experience in a field related to accounting and warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar support/help-desk capacity.

Title / Position: Junior Software Product Analyst

Job Description

Apero Solutions is growing and we are excited to add a dynamic new individual to our team in Edmonton as a Junior Software Product Analyst.  You will be influential in the directional growth of our software and be responsible for working with a team of developers to bring our software to life . We are looking for an individual to work with our development team on software design, testing and assisting in release coordination. This role places you on the team for managing the release process and the person responsible for software design specifications and QA testing.

Position Summary

This individual will work closely with our team of 11 developers, participating in the daily scrum meetings to ensure quality releases are delivered on time.  You will be responsible for creating software requirements and development specifications for new features and enhancements, managing and perform acceptance testing of the developers code as well as logging and tracking defect and enhancement development to ensure the quality of software development.  We are excited to see what you can contribute to Apero and our continued success.

As Software Product Analyst, you will:

  • Be responsible for the creation of software requirements documentation and software design analysis
  • Perform functional QA Testing on product modifications / defects, track defects as well as troubleshoot issues for resolution by software developers.  This includes writing release notes for resolved issues.
  • Create, execute and validate manual test plans
  • Assist in managing developer work queue priorities
  • Provide leadership and management support to the development and support teams.
  • Serve as a resource for internal teams that have product questions, feature requests, and other product related needs
  • Manage multiple projects at once and ensure projects are executed on time and with exceptional quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in driving full DevOps software development and engineering practices
  • Experience in software design, analysis and writing software requirement documents
  • Experience in standard software testing methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
